Small Businesses in the Age of AI

Generative AI is getting progressively better. We have already seen Gen AI take over custom software development. Now AI stands poised to “super-charge” other businesses.

Traditional businesses offer services which their clients engage through a website or a phone app. But this model itself will be upended in a few years at most. The clients wishes or commands will be interpreted by AI, that will perform the actions necessary to request a service or provide the client with information.

Businesses are therefore as best seen as collections of specialized information, together with business processes (the ‘services’) that are engaged by clients via AI.

For example, my meeting request will be handled by AI that knows the schedules of my colleagues, my quote to repair a car by my garage’s AI that knows the availability of service people and parts.

Businesses will therefore be less about human interactions, and more about specialized bots that are experts in their private repositories of data and can both inform humans and take actions on their behalf.

Workmaster is a one stop shop that provides all the work required to support such app bots. All information is available to the app bot. For example, If I own a garage repair shop, Workmaster will automatically extract metadata (known es embeddings) from documents uploaded, such as vehicle service documents, parts catalogues – even the skill and experience of my workers (if I so wish). The bot can then schedule service requests, request parts, even provide advice to the garage’s customers online.
