Browser extension

Workmaster Collaboration

Lets your Workmaster virtual employees work web pages with you, in your own browser: one site at a time, only with your permission, and you can take over at any point.

Last revised: 30th October 2026

What it does

A Workmaster virtual employee (VE) normally works websites in a cloud browser. Some sites need you instead: they want you signed in, ask for a human check, or refuse automated browsers. With this extension, the VE can do that part of its job in your browser, with you:

  • It works only on sites you have allowed, one site at a time. The first time, it asks you on a page of its own, and your browser asks you again.
  • It works in a tab you can see. A bar in that tab shows who is in control. Click or type in the tab at any point and you have control; hand back when you're done.
  • Before it posts, submits, pays or approves anything, it stops and asks you: Allow, Do it myself or Deny.
  • It never signs in for you. When a site asks you to sign in, the VE waits while you do it, and carries on afterwards.
  • It only takes instructions from Workmaster, through your own signed-in Workmaster tab.

Getting it

The extension works in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge on a computer, and in other browsers built on Chromium that can install from the Chrome Web Store. It doesn't work on phones or tablets, in Safari or in Firefox. Workmaster offers it to you when one of your VEs could use it. You need a Workmaster account and a Workmaster tab open for it to do anything.

The permissions it asks for, and why

  • Workmaster's own sites (home.workmaster.ai, app.workmaster.ai, uat.workmaster.ai): so your Workmaster tab can pass a VE's steps to the extension and get the answers back.
  • Other sites, one at a time, only when you allow them: to open, read and work the pages of a site you have allowed for a task.
  • Tabs: to open the tab a VE works in, bring it to the front when it needs you, and close it when the job is done.
  • Scripting: to read a page and carry out a step (a click, typing in a field) in the tab it is working in, and to show its bar there.
  • Web navigation and web requests: to tell when a page in its working tab has finished loading. It only observes, and only in tabs it is working in. It does not change, block or record your requests.
  • Storage: to remember the state of a job in progress (who has control, what it is waiting for). This is kept only while your browser is open.

Your data

What it reads. Only pages on sites you have allowed, and only while a VE's job or you ask it to: the page's address, title and text, a list of the things on it that can be clicked or filled in, and sometimes a drawing of the page. Password and one-time-code fields are never read: what you type in them stays in the page.

Where it goes. To your own Workmaster account, through your Workmaster tab, for the VE doing the job. It is not sent anywhere else. It is not sold, not shared with advertisers, and not used to train AI models.

How long it is kept. The pages it reads and the record of each working session are deleted from Workmaster after 7 days. What the VE records as the result of its job (for example "comment posted") is kept with that job, like any other work in your account.

What it doesn't do. It doesn't collect your browsing history, doesn't read sites you haven't allowed, doesn't read your other tabs, and doesn't run code downloaded from anywhere: everything it runs is inside the extension.

Everything else about how Workmaster handles your information is in our Privacy Policy.

Turning it off

  • To stop a job: press Stop on the bar in its tab, or close the tab.
  • To take back a site: right-click the Workmaster icon in your browser's toolbar and choose what it can see, or open your browser's extension settings.
  • To remove it: right-click the Workmaster icon and choose Remove. Nothing in your Workmaster account depends on it; your VEs go back to working in the cloud browser only.
